FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE//MAY 28, 2001
PEARL HARBOR SOLE-SURVIVOR TO FLY AGAIN
(ZAMPERINI FIELD) Marking
the first Memorial Day of the new millennium, Curtiss-Wright Historical Association President, Kent Lentz today christened a new collectible GRAPHIC NOVEL and CD SET created in honor of the sole-surviving
fighter plane stationed at Pearl Harbor, December 7, 1941: a P-40 TOMAHAWK.
The TOMAHAWK series of fighter planes were legendary in their prowess of WWII service to the U.S.A.F., Britain's R.A.F.
and the A.V.G.'s Flying Tigers in China.
"Sales of this book and the added awareness and sponsorships it can generate will allow us to continue this vital restoration." --
The
historian beamed as he stood beside the born-again, gleaming, shark-nosed fuselage of the TOMAHAWK. An intensely patriotic man, Lentz has pursued this labor of love for over 12 years now, paying most of the
project's costs out of his own pocket. When completed, the plan is to return the TOMAHAWK to a place of honor in a brand new museum on Ford Island, Pearl harbor.
A website has been donated to
document the resurrection process and aid in distribution of the new book.

Written under the guidance of Lentz and by benefit of his extensive archive of government records and first-hand accounts, the graphic novel and CD set will be illustrated by local author/artist
Joe King.
King's previous graphic novel MEN FROM EARTH, honoring the fallen astronauts of America's Space Program earned world-wide distribution on it's first day of publication, eventually was
optioned
for a live-action motion picture, and is now a highly sought after collectible on e-Bay.
For more information on how to order your copy and schedule a tour of the hangar,
contact Kent Lentz at (310) 325-6155.
